Wilding is a stunning illustrated guide to bringing wildlife back, and is suitable for all ages. A combination of photos and gorgeous illustrations from Riverside favourite Angela Harding makes this a proper reference guide as well as a joy to sit down with.
Telling the story of the rewilding project at the Knepp estate in West Sussex, the success stories lift the heart of anyone interested in conservation (https://knepp.co.uk/rewilding/). Knepp has been home to the first white storks to breed in the UK for 600 years. I am most envious of Harding, who got to stay in a bothy on the site at different times of year to capture the seasons.
My favourite pages concern owls – a gorgeous barn owl in flight by Harding is alongside useful information. A proper contents page means you can use it as intended – as the subtitle says, it’s an illustrated guide on how to bring wildlife back. Good information on wildlife and habitats.
A book to keep forever, and a perfect present for a wildlife lover.
